Vijai Mani holds a bachelor’s degree (2009–2014) in International Business from the Berlin School of Economics and Law and the Lord Ashcroft Business School at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. He earned a master’s degree in Operations, Project and Supply Chain Management (2015–2016) from Alliance Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester. For his PhD (2019–2025) at ESCP Business School Berlin, he conducted research on behavioural aspects of inter-firm relationships. During his PhD, he was a Visiting Research Fellow at Esade Business School, Ramon Lull University, Barcelona, Spain.
He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher (December 2025–present) at the Chair of Sustainability Management, TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability, Technical University Munich, Germany.
Vijai’s current primary research interests focus on the intersection of increasing global uncertainty, disruptions, and social sustainability within supply chains. He mainly utilises configurational approaches (e.g., fsQCA), complemented by qualitative or quantitative methods in mixed methods designs.
